The website of the newly started European project EFFORT is now online! Visit EFFORT on www.effort-against-amr.eu. The website contains information not only about the project, but also on the related research in associated domains such as animal health and welfare, food safety and economy.
The EFFORT (Ecology from Farm to Fork Of microbial drug Resistance and Transmission) project will provide scientific evidence and high quality data on anti-microbial resistance (AMR) in the food chain. EFFORT is a collaborative EU funded project, involving 20 academic and industrial partners, including ARTTIC, from 10 European countries. The objective of this project is to broaden our knowledge about:
- The epidemiology of antimicrobial resistance in the food chain.
- The ecology of antimicrobial resistance in the microbial communities.
- The relative contribution of the exposure routes of antimicrobial resistance from animals to humans.
- The economic impact and animal welfare aspects of antimicrobial resistance in the food chain.
EFFORT is also on LinkedIn (EFFORT: Ecology from Farm to Fork of microbial drug resistance and transmission) and on Twitter (@effortamr).
